Chesterfield? by admin

My brother's band have a gig this weekend and I usually help out with their sound and stuff, but this one is up north in Chesterfield!

We've found a cheap hotel for the night so we might make a bit of a weekend of it, but I've not been to Chesterfield before, what should we do?

It's going to take us about four or five hours to drive up there, I hate long drives so I'm loading up my iPod and my R4 so I have plenty of games and music to entertain me on the way.

I want to find a good place to go out on Saturday night, and I wouldn't mind doing a bit of shopping or sightseeing on Sunday, might as well, don't know when I'll be back in Chesterfield again! I read something about a church with a crooked spire, but that's it!

Gymming! by admin

Finally! I think I may have, at long last, found a decent gym at a decent price!

I went to my local council-run gym a while back, and the prices were absolutely horrendous. I was horrified! There was no 'gym only' membership, you had to pay as much as most premium gyms for a full package deal with swimming, sauna and so on, or pay £9.50 per session. Unbelievable.

The premium gyms are too pricey for me too, but one has just opened a 10 minute walk (or three minute cycle) away from me, and it's half the price of the others, so I'm going to check out this afternoon.

I've been planning in joining one for a couple of months, I even have a whole load of gym tank tops, sweatshirts and jogging bottoms ready, I just haven't found the right gym yet. Fingers crossed it's nice!

Just Dreaming! by admin

Do you ever have days when you just sit and dream? I was today and hoping that one day I would win the National Lotto so I could sit here all day:

How amazing is this! I could stare all day at it!

Flying cheap... by admin

I know that budget airlines are always trying to keep their costs low and charge you for absolutely everything 'extra' that they can, but it's getting ridiculous now!

Most of us have heard about Ryanair now charging passengers to use the toilet on some flights, on top of their astronomical luggage prices, an online booking fee (??) and a charge for using a debit or credit card. It's outrageous.

Well I went on a budget airline flight last week (not naming names) and it seems they're even cutting back on staff - there were barely any air stewards or stewardesses, and the in-flight safety procedure was shown on a set of screens rather than carried out by the staff.

Not only was that pretty budget of them, the video was awful too - whoever made it is in dire need of an animation tutorial or two - I could've made one better myself with the most basic of software!

What is the world coming to?

Not enough hours in the day! by admin

Is it me or does everyone seem really busy and stressed out at the moment? Maybe it's all the work we're catching up on after all those bank holidays and time off, but everyone seems to be moaning about being rushed off their feet.

I've got an unending set of deadlines to meet, work piled up to my ears, and when I get home from work at the end of the day I feel like I've got so much to do at home! And while I've been ignoring it with the odd barbecue, it's still there, piling up!

I feel exhausted, I just wish I had the energy to pull all-nighters or work like a crazy person, but unfortunately I don't run on a never ending power supply, I run on a rechargeable battery that needs a good eight hours of restful charge every night.

Hopefully the craziness will pass soon and we can all chill out for summer!
